<p>A consultant then meets you each week in private and reviews the results of your idea. They will motivate you to perform the necessary changes. The first four weeks, one topic at a time is discussed. They are food, body or mind. Then,on week 5 you&#8217;ll get an intermediate check up, recognize the progress and establish new goals.

<p>Again, the cost of the program is vague. The cost of Jenny Craig depends on several things ; such as which thought you choose, which menu items you select, and so on. They have a short term plan and longer term plans, so you will have to decide which plan will work best. And remember, you still have to buy their food. Jenny Craig claims that their meals and snack only cost one dollar more than the average person spends on regular food.<sup>3</sup>

No better example of such an issue exists today than the so-called &#8220;low carb craze&#8221;, which maintains that a diet indecent in carbohydrates (breads, pastas, etc) and high in proteins (meat, animal products, manufactured foods) as well as the interrelated &#8220;Atkins phenomenon&#8221; (the Atkins Diet, which advocates the uncouth carb/high protein approach). In this paper, various facets of these issues will be discussed in an effort to better understand the reveal and future site, and to draw some educated conclusions based on research.

<p>Opponents of the low-carb diet argue that the types of foods that are required to be eaten in lieu of carbohydrates- such as processed meats, red meats and so forth- are the types of foods that are categorically high in saturated fat, cholesterol, sodium, and other elements which have been linked to heart disease, cancer and other ailments that extinguish millions of people every year- even those who &#8220;look healthy&#8221; (The Improper Carb Craze, 2004). In this case, the improved self fancy and outward appearance of the individual is overtaken by the risk of disease and increased death rates.
</p>
<p>Societal Trends That Contribute to &#8220;The Craze&#8221;
</p>
<p>The low carb craze itself is motivated and nurtured by societal trends that are as revealing about the values of modern society as any psychological study that has ever been conducted. Overall, few would argue that the modern society holds beauty, or at least an appearance of health, as one of the most definite attributes a person can possess. When we meet other people, or describe someone to other people, we usually use their physical appearance as the basis of the evaluation or description before taking the time to get to know the person inside of the physical body (Miller, 2000).
</p>
<p>Societal criteria that hold a positive physical appearance over character and personality in many cases is proliferated by the image conscious media of the modern day; people worldwide are obsessed with how they look, often times more so than how they physically or emotionally feel. Celebrities, politicians and other public figures are trapped in the judgment of society by these criteria as well.
</p>
<p>Because of the well established societal trends that hold physical appearance at the top of the list of human evaluation, it is easy to see how something like the low carb craze would be welcomed by the public with open arms. Low carb diets, far from the old time starvation diets, allow the dieter to eat large quantities of food, albeit certain types of food. Because of the demand for extreme carb diets, low carb icons, such as Dr. Richard Atkins, have been elevated to celebrity status.
</p>
<p>Dr. Atkins, the creator of the low carb, high protein Atkins Diet, preached a diet gospel that, for better or worse, advocated the consumption of titanic amounts of meats, eggs, and related foods in an effort to lose weight. While it is suitable that the Atkins Diet resulted in weight loss for millions and millions of people, its long term effects are questionable. In fact, Dr. Atkins himself died suddenly some years ago, and while his public relations machine attributed his death to brain damage from a drop, the rumor has it that he had a massive heart attack, likely brought on by his own diet program (Miller, et al, 2000).
</p>
<p>Scientific Concept Relevant to the Issue
</p>
<p>Approaching an exploration of the scientific knowledge that could be relevant to the low carb issue immediately opens up a heated debate, with low carb advocates pitted against those who feel that the alternative to low carb is more harmful than an few extra pounds from eating carbohydrates themselves. This being said, there are some areas of scientific knowledge which could help in the issue.

<p>Admittedly easier said than done, the ability to understand once and for all if high protein diets, beyond the weight loss, are in fact safe would be very useful in enabling the individual to make an informed decision as to their choice of diet. But everyday people don&#8217;t have the access to personal trainers, nutritionists and cooks that give reality tv explain contestants the ultimate advantage.  Some offer websites (for a fee) that will help you manage your goals and track you progress.  But because I&#8217;m all about finding stuff online for FREE&#8230;I knew there had to be something online to help me do this.  I did some searching, and I found it!

<p>You can&#8217;t go wrong with Sparkpeople.com.  It&#8217;s completely free.  And you once you check it out you won&#8217;t absorb that all of those resources are available to you at absolutely no cost whatsoever.  It was created by a guy named Chris Downie who has invested $5,000,000 of his have money to create this site with the goal of helping others to reach their goals and change their lifestyles.
</p>
<p>The first thing you need to do is sign up.  You can set up your personal weight loss tracker and set goals for yourself.  There are weight loss calculators to help you figure out how long it would choose to lose a determined amount of weight, or how much you would need to do to lose X amount of weight by a certain date.
</p>
<p>Spend the Nutrition Tracker &#8211; at least in the beginning.  This will give you a really good picture of what you&#8217;re consuming and how it affects your diet goals.  The tracker has a built in database of foods you can choose from, plus you can add your own, so the list is always growing.  You&#8217;ll find a ton of restaurant foods in the list, too.  My suggestion for when you can&#8217;t locate a dish from a restaurant is to try to find a recipe in the Sparkpeople.com recipe database and add that as the meal.  It might not be 100% upright but at least it&#8217;s better than nothing.  You can create groups of foods that you eat on a regular basis so it makes it more efficient to enter items in your tracker.  By logging your food into the Nutrition Tracker you can monitor what you&#8217;re eating and see what you might be getting too much of (salt, sugar, carbs) and what you&#8217;re not getting enough of (vitamins, etc).  You&#8217;ll be able to net a powerful clearer record of what you might be doing wrong so you can change those bad eating habits for the better.

<p>Employ the Fitness Tracker to track your workouts.  I cherish being able to look at the reports and eye how long I&#8217;ve been on a workout streak.  Don&#8217;t have a gym membership?   Can&#8217;t afford videos?   Employ their catalog of exercise videos to inaugurate yourself on a workout program.

<p>Set up a Spark Page.  This is like a Myspace or Facebook page.  You can post blogs, add pictures, favorite articles and links.  It&#8217;s a great way to let people know more about you and make Spark friends.  Speaking of Spark friends, check out the community message boards, and join a Spark Team or two.  There are Spark Teams for every imaginable interest where you can talk to others who are interested in your favorite TV shows, music groups, video games and hobbies, and while you connect with them about that you&#8217;ll also be sharing and motivating each other to carry out your weight loss goals.

<p>This Actitvity Calculator is SO cool!  Enter your weight and the duration and it will bring up a immense table that you can refer to in order to locate the amount of calories burned while doing that activity.  I&#8217;ve used this calculator so I could manually enter activities into my Fitness Tracker at Sparkepeople.com.  I do Zumba several times per week, and have figured out that it&#8217;s very close to the equivalent of high impact aerobics so that&#8217;s how I log my time for that.

<p>This is another great site! If you&#8217;re going to keep track of you nutrition you need to know what&#8217;s on the label.  Sometimes it&#8217;s impossible to know what the nutrition information of something is, and this database has an extensive list to search through.

<p>I was a member of Weight Watchers at one time, and they have online resources available, just like Biggest Loser does, but neither of them are free.  I don&#8217;t blame people and businesses for trying to make a living by charging for these types of services.  But I give people a lot more credit when they do something like originate a website such as Sparkpeople.com, that seeks to attend people lead healthier lifestyles and offers them all the benefit and support along the way that they could possibly need, and they do it for free!  The internet can truly be a place to find useful, life-changing information.  Sometimes you just need to know where to find it.<br /></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p>Losing weight is a very challenging goal for most people. Many have some success losing weight and keeping it off, others find it difficult to stick to a thought and keep the weight off. Here are ten ways to lose weight that will help you keep it off.

<p><b>Keep it simple. </b>Many people fail due the change of lifestyle is too difficult. Keeping the change as simple as possible can help this transition. So many diets seem to have you counting several different things (calories, protein, carbs, and sodium, among other things) and have so many rules it really can make it hard to stick to. My suggestion is to simplify it, objective count calories. That&#8217;s it. Don&#8217;t pay particular attention to protein, fat, or carb content. You will find that keeping with in your calorie range that veggies are low in calories and that carb and fat filled foods are high in calories. No counting of these indices is needed. Chances are if you are eating the appropriate amount of calories you wont be able to eat too grand of them anyway.
</p>
<p><b>Know your daily caloric needs. </b>Just simply knowing how many calories you need each day to lose weight is very important. First you will need to <a href="http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator">calculate your Basal Metabolic Rate</a> (BMR). If you a couple hundred calories less than your BMR and expend a few times per week for 30 minutes, you will lose weight. For every 3500 calories you cut from your diet or work off while exercising you will burn on pound of fat. Count your calories. <a href="http://www.sparkpeople.com/">SparkPeople</a> is a great and free weight loss website with excellent calorie counting tools. Counting calories forms good eating habits that should increase your chances of keeping the weight off; eventually you will be able to do it off the top of your head.
</p>
<p><b>Eat whatever you want. </b>I&#8217;m serious. In my experience it has never been easy to lose weight and keep it off if I eliminate all of the foods I treasure. You can have pizza, ice cream, and chocolate and still lose weight. The key is to read the nutritional value on the back of the package and know how many calories is in a serving. Then decide on the appropriate serving for your daily calorie range. One square of chocolate, a Skinny Cow brand ice cream bar or small slice of pie are all aesthetic treats. Unprejudiced take smaller portions of most tasty treats and you can detached have them.

<p><b>Don&#8217;t drink sodas. </b>I know, it contradicts the tip above but this is the one thing you should quit away from. The average can of non-diet soda has around 180-200 calories. Raising your overall activity level is easy and effective just play with the kids outside more, catch the stairs, walk to the store or start a garden.

<p>Loretta was born on April 14, 1935. Her family lived in Butcher Hollow which is located in Jackson County, Kentucky, a itsy-bitsy mining community.
</p>
<p>Loretta began her singing career singing in her local church and in some local concerts.
</p>
<p>A few months before Loretta turned 14, she married Oliver Vanetta Lynn, who was known by the nickname Mooney. By the time, Loretta was 17, they had four children. At the age of 29, Loretta was all ready a grandmother.
</p>
<p>At the age of 18, her husband bought her a guitar and she taught herself how to play.
</p>
<p>Loretta&#8217;s first big break came after winning a local talent competition. This peaked Buck Owens attention who invited her on his television demonstrate. Her appearance led her to signing a deal with Zero Records.
</p>
<p>In 1960, Loretta recorded the song I&#8217;M A HONKY TONK GIRL for Zero records. Being a small record company they did not have the money to promote the song. Loretta and her husband did the promoting themselves, sending the report across the country to radio stations. Then they moved the family to Nashville to help promote it. By the time, the family had moved to Nashville the song had made it to number 14 on the billboard chart.

<p>In the 1960&#8217;s there were only four other female country music stars: Kitty Wells (who became noted in the 1950&#8217;s) along with Patsy Cline, Skeeter Davis and Jean Shepard. Loretta credits Patsy Cline as being her mentor and best friend.
</p>
<p>Loretta Lynn has written over 160 songs and earned 8 BMI (Broadcast Music Incorporated) awards. Her song material has been considered sassy and unique. Many of her songs addressed female issues (especially issues of Southern women). Her songs made her stand out and brought her to attention to fans and critics. Many people who weren&rsquo;t into the country music scene became fascinated by her.

<p>Loretta Lynn has released over 70 albums in her career. Seventeen of her albums reached the number one billboard slot. Twenty seven of her singles also reached the number one billboard slot.

<p>In 2005, Loretta Lynn won the best Country Album award and Best Country Collaboration with Vocals award.

<p>Yet, her career did not come without causing some stress among radio stations. In the early years, many of her songs such as: Rated X, The Pill, and Wings Upon Your Wings was considered to be controversial and was banned from being played by many radio stations.

<p>Loretta Lynn is also known for her autobiography COAL MINERS DAUGHTER, which became a enormous screen movie. In it, she describes her life growing up in the coal mining community and what it took to become the star she is today.
